"Caribbean Colors Mas Band stands for freedom, unity, culture, and love. Born from a history of resilience, Carnival transformed banned drums into steelpan, forbidden dance into street expression, and scraps into vibrant costumes. Our symbol, the hummingbird, represents strength, joy, and the power to rise above adversity-small but unstoppable. Caribbean Colors carries this legacy forward: a celebration of creativity, liberation, and the unbreakable Caribbean spirit."

HISTORY OF CARNIVAL:

Caribbean Carnival grew from the fusion of African and European traditions, evolving into a vibrant celebration of freedom and culture. Berlin's Carnival of Cultures continues this spirit by bringing diverse communities together in a colorful parade of music, dance, and unity.

FROM CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL TO BERLIN CARNIVAL OF CULTURES:

Caribbean Carnival began when African traditions blended with European masquerade customs during the colonial era. Enslaved
Africans used music, dance, and vibrant costumes to celebrate identity and resilience-traditions that flourished after emancipation and grew into today's world-famous Carnival,
especially in Trinidad and Tobago.
Berlin's Carnival of Cultures, founded in 1996, carries this spirit of diversity into the city's streets. Created to celebrate Berlin's
multicultural communities, it brings together global music, dance, costume, and food in a colorful parade. Both traditions highlight
the power of culture to unite people across backgrounds. In 2026 we celebrate the 30 year anniversary of Berlin's Carnival of
Cultures.
